Mothers come to be mothers in so many ways. Some plan endlessly and dream, making lists of names, knitting tiny things in soft yarns. Others are taken by surprise. Some of us meet our children at birth, or when they’re already speaking in complete sentences.
All of us struggle from time to time. But most of us are stronger and, as Pooh says, “smarter than [we] think.”
We also—if we remember it—have deep inner lives and dreams and ways of wanting to be in the world, that may or may not intersect with our motherhood in a fashion we can articulate.
What makes you mom? What would you, as a mom (and more) … like to make? So many things. And that’s what makesyoumom.com is all about.
One thing it is not about—we will never, ever, tell you you’re doing it wrong.
