Laura Lynn Brown is the author of Everything That Makes You Mom and a writer, editor and writing coach recently returned to Pittsburgh, Pa. after twenty years as editing and writing at The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Her award-winning essay “Fifty Things About My Mother,” published in The Iowa Review and Slate, was named a Notable Essay of 2013 in the Best American Essays anthology. She earned an MFA in nonfiction from the University of Pittsburgh.
Laura Boggess has an MA in clinical psychology and works in a medical rehabilitation hospital, helping patients and their families cope with traumatic diagnoses such as brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke. She is also the author of Playdates with God: Having a Childlike Faith in a Grown-up World.
Callie Feyen holds an MFA in creative writing from Seattle Pacific University. She writes for Coffee + Crumbs, Relief Journal, and The Banner. Her work has also appeared in Altarwork and Art House America. Callie is also a middle school English teacher, mother to Hadley and Harper, and wife to a guy who knows an incredible amount about hurricanes. She adores her family, strong coffee, and the Chicago skyline. Callie lives in Michigan.
Rebecca D. Martin holds a master’s in English literature from the University of Georgia. Her essays and book reviews have been published in The Curator, The Other Journal, Art House America, and Kinfolk Magazine, among others. Rebecca lives with her husband and two daughters in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Christie Purifoy lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and four children. Her first book, Roots & Sky: A Journey Home in Four Seasons, was published in 2016 by Revell. More glimpses of her life in a Victorian farmhouse called Maplehurst can be found on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
Michelle Rinaldi Ortega is the founder and president of Communicare Ltd., Inc., where she and her staff support the growth, expression and relationships of children of all ages (birth to 99) through holistic speech pathology, occupational therapy and yoga services. Her daughter (and fellow adventurer, photographer and poet) Tori is currently living in New York City pursuing a college degree in writing and philosophy. Michelle photographs and poetically records the beauty of ordinary moments and in off-the-beaten-path wanderings. She ponders the meaning of her inadvertent travels with Ernest Hemingway: journeys from Key West to Paris, Bimini, New Orleans and back to Paris several times over. More research is required, so Michelle plans to return to Paris soon to continue it. Her feline companion, Lucie, is displeased with her departures but eventually gets over it.
